Hi! Are these standard connect accounts + direct charges, or is this express/custom connect + destination charges?

many of my connected accounts use their Linkedin profile as their website and thus LINKEDIN.COM appears in the statement descriptor, which is confusing at best and flagged for fraud at worst

Gotcha - so unfortunately this isn't possible (and is one of the many reasons we don't recommend direct charges + express connect in the first place). Direct charges are made directly on the connect account, and so the settings for the individual connect account are used. With standard + direct this is fine since standard accounts are in control of their own settings, but express account have no way of changing this setting at all

copy that. thank you for your time and your help. Seems like perhaps my best solve would be to have the connected users go back through the onboarding process and change that linkedin link?

You may want to check out the first section here (https://stripe.com/docs/connect/statement-descriptors#set-the-static-component-for-a-connected-account) if you haven't already - you could just update the statement descriptor for your connect accuonts instead
