sorry I can't, a customer showed me his bank account yesterday,it was like a short id, I think 8 chars but I couldn't find any reference to it when I checked the payouts which I retreive from the api
oh well I wrote it down
K3M4K9
V503R0
but these don't match anything when I retreive the payouts.json
can you share an example account id that you're discussing? what type of connected accounts are you using?
can u search for a payment id?
po_1IhmPXLEIVlz5ACSOMbhlxjD
for example this one
26.04
yep, thanks
payout descriptor says K3M4K9
and you can access that in the data?
?
I would like to know where that payment descriptor on the bank account comes from, to create a reference when you look at your bank account so that you can associate a payout with it, currently this is only possible when you compare the total amount
sorry i dont know what you mean with and you can acccess that in the data
Taking a step back, i think i assumed there was Connect & connected accounts involved here. When you control the accounts like custom & express you'd set/access this in the account settings:
https://stripe.com/docs/api/accounts/object#account_object-settings-payouts-statement_descriptor
With standard accounts to generally don't control this, unless you have platform controls / create them.
For standard accounts, including where this is just your own single account without anything to do with connect, support can set this for you if you reach out to them.
Can you confirm this is just for your own single account? (Sorry, i got confused here 😵 )
yea, that's for a single account of one of my customers
right, ok, then they'll need to work with support to have this set to something
We can set the statement descriptor that gets sent to your bank account when you receive a payout from Stripe. While we’re happy to update this information for you on our end, what your bank does with this information, and what will actually get displayed on your statement with your payouts will be up to your bank.
mh but if they set it it's static isn't it ?
so for example I couldn't use the first 6 chars of a payout id
so my customers can verify their payouts on their bank account with the payouts in the ui
They can't be made dynamic for standard accounts, no. But support can help you understand how to reconcile this.
ok ty
