No the plaid integration is a legacy integration path for ach debit payments

strange wasp
#

what about recreating the payment methods directly via API?

atomic furnace
#

If you have access to the account details sure

strange wasp
#

Yes we do from plaid. So for example. Let's say we pull the account details from Plaid. Call the PaymentMethod API to create a Payment Method for a Customer. We should then take that same PaymentMethod ID and send money to it via Global Payouts?

atomic furnace
#

They're different apis

#

Not payment methods and customers

#

But yeah if you have the details it's doable

strange wasp
#

Ok I see theres a feature for resuing payment methods though. I'm not sure if that only works for payment methods created via the Stripe frontend SDK or if it can work with directly created PaymentMethods like I mentioned
https://docs.stripe.com/global-payouts/credential-reuse?core-dashboard-or-api=api#retrieve-the-new-payout-method-id

Collect identity and credential information to enable customer payment methods, then reuse that information to enable those payment methods as payout methods for Global Payouts.

So I think the issue is that plaid bank accounts are legacy sources

#

Not payment methods

#

If you had ach debit (us_bank_account) payment methods you could do the above

strange wasp
#

Ok yea I did see it won't work for legacy source objects which makes sense. But so long as we're able to use API created PaymentMethods then it sounds like we can use this

#

If it's a card or ach debit bank account yeah

strange wasp

Ok great. Thanks for the help
