Hello
This was a us_bank_account payment method type.
Calculated descriptor is only applicable to card payments as far as I can recall
is there a way to tell at all what the descriptor will be from the payment intent?
The full statement descriptor that is passed to card networks, and that is displayed on your customers’ credit card and bank statements. Allows you to see what the statement descriptor looks like after the static and dynamic portions are combined. This value only exists for card payments.
https://docs.stripe.com/payments/ach-direct-debit#statement-descriptors-for-ach
Every ACH Direct Debit payment shows up on customers’ bank statements with the name of the merchant. For payments created with Stripe, the name of the merchant is your Stripe account’s statement descriptor
Ok, and If override the statement descriptor using the "statement_descriptor" field for a payment intent. I should be able to see that after I create it then.

Yup
Ok great. Thank you
Happy to help!
