Worth noting, in our test mode there is no option for bank in the payment sheet, but only once we went through to Beta which used our live keys did this bank option show up

Hello! You are correct that automatic payment methods should choose what to display based on your dashboard configuration. Can you please share a request ID and screenshot so I can look into why you're seeing bank as an option? And do you have Link enabled? I suspect this is actually Link Instant Bank Payments: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/link/instant-bank-payments

It does look like link is enabled 'on by default'

#

Is there a reason that would not show in test mode but does in live mode, on the payment sheet?

#

Hmm, can you please provide your account ID for me to investigate?

tepid drum
#

This is the link configuration in case that is helpful

#

Would you like the connect account id or the parent account?

hidden patio
#

Both would be great!

parent account: acct_1877xALYd4sH4AhM

#

we have many connect accounts, so not sure if that would be helpful. Also assuming there is something that needs adjustment could you provide the instructions so that I can review them with our team before any changes are made. We would need to get business approval before any changes are made. We are just trying to understand why we'd be seeing this at the moment

#

Appreciate your help investigating this!

Gotcha, that makes sense! Always happy to help ๐Ÿ™‚

#

Do you also have an example request or Payment Intent ID for when you saw the bank option?

tepid drum
#

this is for my user in our live mode.
Request ID: req_yQmCsuIqNI6k7a

#

here is an image of what I see in the payment sheet for that request ID

Apologies for the delay while I responded to a few other threads!

hello! fyi i'm taking over for jazz - i agree that this looks like link instant bank payments, let me triple check a few things though

Thanks!

We just noticed that in another connect account when we open the sheet we do NOT see the bank option and both the connect accounts have the same setup in terms of payment method options (ie link is enabled in both connect accounts). Only cards, apple/google pay, and link pay are enabled but we get different behavior in the two connect accounts. I will send the request id for the other connect account where we see different behavior

so yes this is definitely link instant bank payments, and disabling link for the payment method configurations you're using is the only way to get rid of it. i should say that it offers credit card like settlement speeds and fees so most people prefer to leave it on since it just gives people more payment options, but if you really want to disable it entirely then turning off link would be the way

If this is used, how does this get setup for a user? is it effectively setting up a debit card? or is it actually getting bank information, ie account #, routing # etc. We require cards to be able to charge usage fees, stolen product fees etc.

#

This is new to us as we didn't see it in test mode so we are trying to understand the implications of leaving it on. Thanks!

#

it collects bank account details, from a user's perspective it would look much like the US Bank Account option

Okay, this should give us the info we need. Thanks for the help!!
