Thanks for the docs, we have a question about the pricing section in the app listing. Our users pay us directly through our own platform - we handle all billing outside of Stripe. The Stripe App install is just the step where the user connects their Stripe account to our platform. Should we select Free here since we are not charging through the Stripe marketplace, even though our platform itself is a paid service?
Are you using the connection through the stripe app to collect money from your customers or is that handled outside the Stripe app?
Is the installation of the Stripe App what initiates the charging for your customers?
No, we do not use the Stripe App connection to collect money from our customers. Our customers pay us separately through our own billing system outside of Stripe. Installing the Stripe App does not trigger any charge - it simply connects the user's Stripe account to our platform so we can read their data. So we should select Free, correct?
I think so but, to be 100% clear, that is not an area where my team has much familiarity.
Understood, thank you. Just to confirm our understanding โ the Paid subscription option in the listing means Stripe itself would collect a fee from users when they install the app, correct? Since we handle all our billing outside of Stripe, we will go with Free. Just wanted to make sure we are not missing anything.
This isn't something I can provide advice on but, as far as I know, Stripe would not handle collecting the fee. My understanding is that use of the Stripe App would require a Subscription that the App Developer would manage
