Express pay is working! Just not payment elements
Hello
Give me a few to look
Sorry for the delay, had to pair with a teammate on semi-urgent issue
I'm looking now
Are you looking to confirm the type of the payment method before the confirmation or after the confirmation?
Payment Element allows you to listen to change event which can tell you the type of the selected payment method prior to the submission - https://docs.stripe.com/js/element/events/on_change?type=paymentElement#element_on_change-handler-value
This is when you're already signed in to link and the page loads and we want it on confirmation.
Okay, looking
Yeah would be helpful if submit() functioned according to the docs. Haha.
Looks like change fires with card shoot
I think the PM wants link so we know how many people pay with Link. I'll check with the backend folks.
But selectedPaymentMethod seems like a bug but we can hack around it by saving a reference from change
Yeah I had a colleague test for me and they're seeing the same.
I'm trying to look and see if this is a known gap
Hi there,
taking over for my colleague who had to step away.
This seems to be a somewhat known gap. We have already instances where the selectedPaymentMethod is either stale or not present but I don't see the exact case you're encountering. I will reach out to the product team.
Ty!
No problem.
How would I check back?
What we can do is, I'll send you a link (or the bot) and you file a support ticket. I can grab it and attach it to the internal ticket and we keep you in the loop?
Sounds good!
