Basically custom address fields. We aren't using Stripe's Address element and are managing that part ourselves

The idea is if they are a returning Link user, we can grab the address from the Link wallet / Stripe Payment Method. If they are a new one, we need to collect it ourselves

I don't think we expose any indication of whether the customer is a first time Link user or not - if we did, it would be in the Link Authentication Element's change event value - https://docs.stripe.com/js/element/events/on_change?type=linkAuthenticationElement

Hmm, if a user signs up for Link then selects to save the card. Will that show up as truthy for the savePaymentMethod property? https://docs.stripe.com/js/element/events/on_change?type=paymentElement

No, I don't think so - I think that's aimed at the Payment Element's saved payment methods with Customer Sessions feature

Confirmation Tokens gets you an email address in the payment_method_preview but that doesn't get you that much more information
