sorry I know nothing about this component, but looking!

#

Can you share a screenshot of what you call "the main Dashboard area"? Sorry Stripe Apps are cryptic for me and I ca't make sense of what you are really trying to do

Sure, doing that now - adding some annotations - 1 minute

hello! Taking over from koopajah! That's not possible, Stripe Apps always display on the right

Do you see my confusion though? Why would those new components add a link to 'open app' and add an icon inside the app saying that the data is coming from a stripe app? It also hardcodes the appname as the header of the table. Those things all indicate to me that the table is (or will soon be) intended to be rendered outside of the usual app drawer.

With those things 'hard coded/non configurable', that makes these new components almost unusable in the app drawer.

#

Especially since there is already a nice "Table" UI component that is very flexible. And tehre is already a nice "PropertyList" component.

I'm just trying to see the need for the "DetailsViewTable" and a "DetailsViewPropertyList" components that adds UI to make it abundantly clear the data is from a 3rd party app, IF those components aren't meant to be rendered in the dashboard page (outside the drawer)

gimme a while to look into this

Okie dokie, I appreciate your time! I made an app a year ago and don't remember seeing these components before, so they're pretty new. I'm just trying to catch up on what you guys have added since then πŸ™‚ I'll check back in a bit.

Hey, your confusion here is completely understandable, and your reasoning makes a lot of sense. The "Open app" link, the Stripe App icon with the tooltip, and the hardcoded app name as the header all seem to suggest these components were designed with rendering outside the drawer in mind. As you pointed out, those elements would feel redundant and out of place when the user is already inside the app drawer.

You also raise a really fair point about the purpose of these components. If they're only meant for the drawer, there's no clear reason to include UI that explicitly calls out the data as coming from a third-party app. At that point, the user is already inside your app, so those indicators and the "Open app" link don't really serve a purpose.

I'd love to get you a better answer on why those components exist, because your question is completely fair and I unfortunately don't have an answer for you right now.

Would you mind writing in to us through the DM I'll be sending you shortly? That way, I can reach out to our product team and follow up with you through the support ticket that gets created from your message.
