i noticed all of the requests modifying this subscription are coming from the dashboard - just double checking, are you a developer?

Yes I'm a dev, I have tried the same through api's in the test environment
Encountered the same error in test environment too

ooo this brings up a good point, these are live mode subscriptions and i would strongly encourage you to avoid testing in live mode
can you share a test mode example?

Yeah this was my personal test account, I thought the issue was only in the test environment due to the test clock or something so I was trying in live mode

hmm actually I tried the upcoming invoice api and it is working fine, only in the dashboard it is buffering
