It appears payment_method_types was set explicitly to card only
When payment_method_types are passed in the creation request automatic_payment_methods won't be used

so sending empty would enable it ?
I think that different payments get attached to the payment_intent when sending empty

If you create an invoice without passing payment_method_types we use automatic_payment_methods by default which determine the available payment method types automatically from you payment method configuration
payment_method_types will always override automatic_payment_methods when used.

Ok, so when creating an Invoice from the Dashboard, the Payment Methods Types selected by default in the UI are those derived from your Payment Method Configuration ala automatic_payament_methods If you make no changes to the types we will default to automatic_payment_methods behavior. If you make changes in the UI to the Payment Methods Types, we will pass a list of PMTs explicitly to payment_method_types
