Hi there - could you please try being more specific about what you're looking for?
Apparently, there were changes made to our Stripe usage through API. I dont know anythign about API. Is this something that can be changed on Stripe's website?
If I understand you correctly, not really, this would be set in your code that controls your Stripe integration.
You can gain some insight into what your code is doing by analyizing your request logs in your dashboard at this url: https://dashboard.stripe.com/workbench/logs
But if you aren't a developer this will be very difficult to understand
can you tell me what the API is doing?
Hi there,
taking over for my colleague who had to step away. That depends on which API you are talking about. Stripe offers a variety of APIs. Do you have any more context abot what you are trying to figure out, or do you have access to a developer who can assist you?
our developer left our nonprofit abruptly and I am trying to understand what changes they made.
how many changes to our stripe api have been made? can you see what api edits have been done to our website?
No, we don't have any visibility into your integration, meaning your code. We can only look at the requests etc you make against our API but if the developer made any changes to your code, we would not know.
Can you tell me anything about the requests we make against your API
Do you have an account id for me? It should look like acct_xxxx. Then I can take a look. But I'd recommend you to look for a new developer who can take a look at your integration directly.
im looking for the account id
acct_1R0QzuHml3Q009EF
anything u can tell me about our api requests would help
Let me see what I can find....
thanks
Ok I can see that you are using our hosted Checkout product.
This is our doc about the hosted Checkout: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/checkout/how-checkout-works?payment-ui=stripe-hosted
thanks. im looking now
And it seems like you are using Payment Links like this one: https://dashboard.stripe.com/acct_1R0QzuHml3Q009EF/payment-links/plink_1ROMVCHml3Q009EFMcTaHYcF
do you know what functionality hosted Checkout is adding?
Does payment links just enable the functionlity of adding a link to our website for people to click to use one of the products in our Product catalog?
Hosted Checkout is a checkout page that renders on Stripe servers and handles all the payment related steps and processes. If that makes sense.
The Payment Link is basically just a URL (or button), when clicked the user gets redirected to a Checkout Page to finalize a purchase that was defined for the specific Payment Link.
Here are our docs about Payment Links: https://docs.stripe.com/payment-links
Ok both of those are working and seem reasonable. Is there another part of the API on our Stripe setup that has disabled automatic recurring payments?
That is something I cannot say for sure from my end. Sorry. That would be a question to a developer that has access to your integration and presumable your Dashboard.
If you have more basic questions about your account, you can also reach out to our support here https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true since we can only help with API request related questions etc. while general questions are more appropriate with support. Does that make sense?
The support form does not work. It seems to be frozen and I can't get through the page where it is to be submitted but I dont know why. I want to contact sales to ask for a nonprofit discount. Is there any other way to contact them? I emailed them at sales@stripe.com but got an automated response that directed me to use that non-working form.\
The form is frozen? So when you click on the link I shared, what happens then? Can you click on Contact support in the box on the right side?
That brings up the AI assistant. When I ask it about the nonprofit discount it tells me to contact sales support. I put in our company email info@thomaspaine.org, fill out the form, and the button to SEND simply doesn't work.
Ok, can you ask the bot to talk directly to a support agent?
yes i got a call thanks for your help. have a good day
