What's the pi_xxx ID for the payment?
pi_3SaH8CJA7Or4kmRA14TyVq1S
However, the transaction was actually made with a different card ending in 2031, which is not reflected under Payment method โ Number in Stripe.
Where do you see that? Thelast4on the underlying charge is2023
yes sorry, I have a typo. Card ends with 2023 but it expired 12/2023
Yeah ultimately the bank can still opt to accept/process the transaction regardless of whether the card has expired, that's at their discretion
๐ taking over for my colleague. Let me know if there's any follow-up Qs I can answer!
ok, tnx! I need to sync than with our team as they said transaction was done with card with ends with 2031
let me know if you need any more help
sure, let me get more info from the team
btw, the card can be renewed, without us knowing, so we would still use the old expiry date but the issuing bank knows that this was renewed so the payment goes through
so being renewed also means that the card number changed/update on the bank's side but not on stripe?
no, renewal can happen without the card number changing
only the expiry date
sometimes also CVV/CVC
in stripe, the old card number would still appear, even though the bank has updated it?
since we display the last 4 digits of the card used for each transaction, in cases where the card has expired and the bank has updated it, we would end up showing the customer the wrong last 4 digits
the card number shouldn't change
oh I thought you were talking about the expiry year here not the last4
the card in stripe expired 12/2023 and it also ends with 2023 but someone from my team said the transaction was done with card which ends with 2031
this is what they sent to me
amount and transaction date&time match
that is why we are confused
๐ Hey, taking over here, just taking a look
Where exactly is the data in the screenshot above pulled from?
I don't see any reference to the 2031 card on the Stripe side, looks like it was the 2023 one
Airtime rewards, you register your card and get cashback on purchase
me neither, but this is the only transaction which happened in the same time with the same amount but card last4 are different
You might need to find out more about how airtime rewards are reconciling the data, as I'm not sure where they're getting that card number. The Payment Intent ID you shared above does look to be for this transaction, but this and the related charge object both show the 2023 card
