Hi! if you reach out to Stripe Support (https://support.stripe.com/contact) , they'll be able to advise you on this question! We mainly help with developers who want to integrate directly with the Stripe API here on this channel and unfortunately aren't so familiar with declines.

We have already tried. They are not being helpful and just saying there is no issue.

There obviously is a problem as its not just us seeing the problem and we have lots of enterprise clients reporting problems

Is there someone who can escalate this and get us a phone number to talk to?

I do understand but unfortunately my team here aren't so familiar with declines. We will need you to reach out to Stripe Support (https://support.stripe.com/contact) to get assistance on this.

stripe support have told me that a decline like this is purely from the bank.

i countered this saying we have about 200+ successful setupIntents in the last 90 minutes, but 50+ declines in the last 90 minutes, and no declines like this for months beforehand

they are not helping

there is clearely a problem at one of the upstream processing banks or whatnot, or something deep in Stripe

the Stripe support webchat team are refusing to help further

Has the customer reached out to the bank? Because if the decline is from the bank there is nothing more that we can do.

the customer here is an end consumer making a purchase. they wont do this, they will just give up on the purchase.

what we are reporting is the sudden and clear escalation in this specific error. it is not normal - this many end consumers cards cannot be declining all of a sudden.

I would still advice the end customer to check with their bank. I don't have much insights into declines and can't help much here. You will need to reach out to Stripe Support to get more information on this.

thanks @quartz furnace . is there anything you are able to check with regards to the frequency of this decline in Stripe over the last 2 hours or so? it seems to have skyrocketed and we arent seeing it coming down

multiple customers, multiple card types, multiple banks i assume
