That said I don't actually remember if you can just set the default to dark mode
Have you opened up the admin options like shown here: https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/payments/setup-reader/stripe-reader-s700#settings
There is an Appearance tab there that I'd recommend checking first

If it is set at the Reader Admin settings level then yes. Overall I'm not sure if the default changed here.
Can you first check if it is configurable there?

nvm, there's another way of opening the settings
and changing it there to dark mode works
so there's no other way to force the dark mode?
