I shouldn't say "not possible", but when using a localhost link with no HTTPS, it fails.

I searched through the GitHub issues of the node sdk, couldn't find anything there

Alright yeah I'm not seeing this be flagged previously. I don't see why we would not relax the validation in test mode here so I can file a ticket internally for that. For now though while testing you'll need to use an HTTPS endpoint.
