What Stripe API version are you using ?
If you are using >basil, you can get the invoice's payments following this guide:

Can I also expand something to get the product name, without having to use Products api as well?

You have the Product Id from the invoice:

But you can't expand it as it's 4+ level
You need to make a get product by Id call
