we use these packages:
"@stripe/react-stripe-js": "^3.1.1",
"@stripe/stripe-js”: "^5.6.0”,
"stripe": "^14.22.0”,
import { loadStripe, type Stripe } from '@stripe/stripe-js';
loadStripe(publicKey, {
apiVersion: '2023-10-16',
stripeAccount: connectedAccountId,
});
// to confirm the payment
const { error, paymentIntent } = await stripe.confirmPayment({
elements,
redirect: 'if_required', confirmParams: { return_url: REDIRECT_URL,
},
});```
and we use PaymentElement which comes from @stripe/react-stripe-js package
So this error is being surfaced to the customer? Do you have any screenshots showing how it appears?
unfortunately we don't have any screenshot how it appears on the frontend but we capture all of this data in google analytics to track the metrics of successful and failed transactions
a similar error also occurs for google pay with a message that goes like this:
Something went wrong. Unable to show Google Pay. Please choose a different payment method and try again
Can you share an example request ID (req_xxx)? https://support.stripe.com/questions/finding-the-id-for-an-api-request
sure let me check if I can get that
Hello, I am not able to find the request ID, is there anything else that I can share that might help you in debugging it?
We’re also unable to reproduce this issue, so for now, we just want to understand one thing:
When is this error typically triggered?
It would generally be a wallet or device issue on the client side. Some details on the requirements here: https://docs.stripe.com/testing/wallets?ui=payment-element#device-requirements
