Hello, taking a look. Is there a specific tutorial of ours that you were working off of for this code?
Hello, yeah i have been using this one:
https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/payments/collect-card-payment?terminal-sdk-platform=react-native
I am having trouble finding more on this. Consulting my colleagues. And to confirm: the overall goal is to surface more informative error messages and the most promising thing you've found for that is this callback?
Correct, the idea is, from an M2 usb stripe terminal, get the messages coming from it when trying to tap a card, to provide the users with the some information of what to do e.a, insert instead of tap
Still haven't been able to find much but my colleagues and I are still looking. I think that that handler is more about Stripe asking you to display a message on your POS rather than the reader screen
Correct, the hanlder is supposed to give my app back some inputoptions (insertCard, tapCard, swipeCard) or some message to Display in my app, like retryCard
The issue is, the event handlers do not fire at all
What have you tried so far to trigger this error? In theory this should be raised for most errors from things like inserting the card the wrong way or partially tapping
Exactly, I have tried tapping quickly, tapping multiple cards, tapping unsupported cards, inserting cards, not removing the card - All of those supposedly should trigger some displaymessages
Hard to say what may be happening here, it really looks like it should be triggering. Can you send your full code for setting up that callback? If I can't spot anything there I think we'll need to create a support case for someone on our side to try to reproduce this lack of callback
π Pompey needs to step away, so i'll be taking over. It looks like this might require we file a ticket so we can investigate this further. Are you ok if I send you a form to file a ticket with support? Once you've filed just let me know and we can make sure the ticket is escalated to our team.
sure, that would be great thanks
Of course
Is there a specific form you want me to fill? that took me to the contact us page
Sorry, my apologies wrong support macro

This most recent one should have sent you a Dm with a direct route to file a ticket
Got the DM, but it takes me here
did the dm have additional instrutions beyond the link itself
Only that I had to be logged in in my stripe account, which I am
Hrmm. Can you try closing all support tabs and following the link again?
Let me know if it works this time, I can also try sending the direct url again.
let me close all lol
Sorry about that π¬
haha, nothing yet, still points me to the support page, I see the link with a bunch of discord context information, but it doesnt open anything different
let me try one more time

you should be getting a new dm
I did, but still no luck, even tried opening with safari and icognito mode, no difference haha
Should I just get the web assistant to generate a ticket?
And this is the most recent link you received from the DM that is taking you there?
yeah, the link from the DM
Anyway, I used the assistant in the website to send an email, and added this discord chat as reference haha
did you get a reference id?
Sadly no, the assitante only confirmed the email was sent, and the confirmation email does not show any relevant information
what was the email you used so I can look it up π I'm so sorry about the additional hassle here
haha no worries, || tomas@reusables.com ||
Found it and routed the ticket to our team π We'll be in contact through the ticket with more information as it becomes available.
Thanks alot, appreacite your help haha
Any time!
