can I somehow lead client to finish this payment in other way (not hosted invoice url) with same outcome - i will get invoice.paid and other pending_updates events?
Yes, those events will always when the invoice is paid fire regardless of where it is paid. The recommendation generally is to confirm the invoice's payment with the Payment Element and then you can keep the customer on-site: https://docs.stripe.com/invoicing/integration?method=elements#accept-invoice-payment
Is it possible to do it without front end changes on my side? Looking on completely back end solution, with just redirect on frontend side
Not entirely no as the payment may require authentication from the customer in which you'd need to handle that client-side
The hosted URL obviously handles all that for you
I mean like is it possible to somehow create stripe checkout page for this invoice and give it to customer?
