If I hard-code billingAddress.address.country to US then it works as expected.

Interestingly, if I change the Country drop-down in the Payments element, I get no callback to the checkout session changing

I have to head out for a bit, but I can continue tomorrow. If you want to look at the work bismark did the other day, it might be useful

I think the two things I'm looking for are:

(ideal) Actually make billingAddress.address optional for actions.updateBillingAddress()
(less ideal) Update the documentation to make it clear that billingAddress.address.country is required

In addition, making sure that the country code is provided when a checkout session's change event fires would be great. 🙂
