Hi there! Our recommended approach would generally be to listen for the checkout.session.completed webhook event and ingest the data you get from the event body

Right, and im guessing it's possible to attach extra data that gets passed in the webhook event?
I would assume passing on passwords via stripe event and then ingesting wouldnt be recommened though?

Yes - you can use the metadata field on the Checkout Session object to include whatever data you like and that will be present in the Checkout Session webhook events
