ok, so what you want to do here is first save the payment method during a checkout session with saved_payment_method_options.payment_method_save: enabled (docs)
that will save the payment method to the customer and also set it up so that it will be able to be redisplayed in future checkout sessions
this guide walks you through the full process
(actually that guide contains some extraneous info related to a different integration type that you can ignore, let me find a better one)
