just to clarify, you are asking if there is a way to retrieve the receipt as a PDF?

my client is afraid the invoice will confuse his customers because it doesn't say the order has been paid so he wants both invoice and receipt sent

I understand but unfortunately there is no API endpoint that provides the receipt as PDF. The url you are receiving is the only way to access the receipt.

The receipt itself is the proof that the invoice has been paid

ok thanks for your quick answers, it may be a french thing : we usually have one document, an invoice which indicates if payment is due or not, I realize now orders and receipts seem common practice for the US

Yes, that is the common flow. Invoice, maybe order confirmation seperatly, and an receipt after payment.
