Here is my current code:
try {
//some preprocessing
const transfer = await stripe.transfers.create({
amount: reward, // amount in cents
currency: 'usd',
destination: accountId,
});
console.log("Yay, transfer was successful");
//here I assume the transfer was created successfully
} catch (error){
console.log("there was an error creating the transfer");
}
Is this correct? Because I feel it's a bit weird I can't do something like
const transfer = await stripe.transfers.create({
amount: reward, // amount in cents
currency: 'usd',
destination: accountId,
});
if(transfer.isSuccessful){
}
else{
}
amd I missing something?
Hi! No transfer object is created if the transfer fails. You will get an error.
So I should do something like:
const transfer = await stripe.transfers.create({
amount: reward, // amount in cents
currency: 'usd',
destination: accountId,
});
if(transfer){
}
else{
}
Or is this code fine:
try {
//some preprocessing
const transfer = await stripe.transfers.create({
amount: reward, // amount in cents
currency: 'usd',
destination: accountId,
});
console.log("Yay, transfer was successful");
//here I assume the transfer was created successfully
} catch (error){
console.log("there was an error creating the transfer");
}
Assuming the error will be "thrown" ?
It will be the second code. You can refer to this document for how to handle errors: https://docs.stripe.com/error-handling
