Hi there,
thank you for the question. It's a common question and leads often to confusion.
InvoiceItems are top-level objects that can be created directly via the API with calls to /v1/invoiceitems. They are primarily used to represent charges that can be added to an invoice. If prorations are generated as part of changes to a Subscription, Stripe will create InvoiceItems behind the scenes to represent those prorations.

InvoiceLineItems on the other hand, are automatically generated when InvoiceItems are added to an Invoice or when a Subscription renews. They cannot be directly created through the API.

Thank you! Is it safe to update the invoice line items with the stripe.invoiceItems.update method? As I said, the updating is being applied successfully, but I'm not sure if there's a better way with the stripe version I'm using
