Yeah, I don't find a great deal about the exact when/why we send microdeposits vs descriptor codes, but your integration can't specify one or the other

Yeah, I couldn't find the determining factor for descriptor vs 2 microdeposts either. Thanks for taking a look though.

I am not certain, but my thought is that not all banks will support the descriptor code, which is something we didn't do at all when I started at Stripe years ago.

So likely we check to see what is supported for the institution in question and then go from there
