👋 Welcome to your new thread!

⏲️ We'll be here soon! Typically we respond in a few minutes, but sometimes we might take a bit longer if the server is busy or if you have a particularly tricky question.

⏱️ We close idle threads, which makes them read-only. Once a thread is closed it won't be reopened, but you can always start a new thread if you have another question.

We wish we could help, but you need to talk to Stripe support

We can only help on Discord if all of the following are true:

  • 🧑‍💻 You must be a developer
  • 🛠️ Your question must be about building a Stripe integration
  • ⚙️ Your question must be technical/developer focused
  • ⏱️ You must be available to respond in realtime
  • 👥 You must be comfortable receiving help in public (this is a public server)

If any of those aren't true please contact Stripe support.

If all of those are true we may have misunderstood your question; please provide more details below.

Note that using an inappropriate button or submitting inappropriate information is a violation of our rules. You will be removed from this server if you repeatedly create invalid threads.

@rigid mantle what do you mean by "Discord Developer Portal"?

#

Are you talking about this server?

rigid mantle
#

@azure orbit No, I mean the official Discord Developer Portal website https://discord.com/developers/applications . I’m trying to verify my developer account there for App Verify, and the verification is handled through Stripe. When I upload my Bangladesh TIN certificate, Stripe always shows ‘Invalid document.’ I wanted to know if Stripe supports Bangladesh TIN for verification, or if I need to use another document (like NID or passport).

Ah sorry yeah we don't handle verification questions here -- you would need to reach out to our Support team via https://support.stripe.com/contact/login about that. We can only help with questions about our API here.

In that case you need to reach out to Discord.

We can't help with this.

Unfortunately, Stripe's document verification requirements are set by Stripe directly, and they have specific criteria for which documents they accept from each country. While TIN certificates are indeed valid government documents in Bangladesh, Stripe may be looking for different documentation types for identity verification purposes.

Here are a few things you can try:
Check Stripe's accepted documents list - Stripe typically accepts passports, national ID cards, or driver's licenses for identity verification. If you have any of these documents, try using them instead.
Contact Stripe Support directly - Since this is specifically related to Stripe's verification process, they'll be in the best position to help you understand what documents they accept from Bangladesh. You can reach them through your Stripe dashboard or their support channels.
Try different image quality/angles - Sometimes document scanning issues can be related to image quality. Ensure your document scan is clear, well-lit, and all corners are visible.

they told me this....

Okay so as I noted above then you need to talk to Support via https://support.stripe.com/contact/login

Sorry that you are getting sent around here but we really can't help with any sort of verification questions here. We not only don't know about how it works (as we just focus on the API) but also we can't handle any account-specific questions here since this is a public server.
