screenshot for additional context. Also the request ID: req_DFWG0arcigPqzY. Thanks in advance!
Hi, we document the expected behavior here: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/bank-transfers#international-payments
The accounts that support international payments only support their own currency. For example, US accounts support SWIFT transfers in USD only.
@cunning grotto Thanks for the quick reply โ I'm not sure I follow how this applies to this scenario though. It's a EU company paying a EUR account in EUR
That request is coming from a US account: https://dashboard.stripe.com/logs/req_DFWG0arcigPqzY
So you're saying that customers can't pay EUR into their EUR Cash Balance when the Stripe account is US-based? I guess I'm confused because the section below where you referenced (Cross-border payments) then says this: Bank transfers users in the United States can accept EUR payments from customers in SEPA countries.
You're right. Can you use the API, https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment_intents/create?api-version=2025-08-27.basil to see if that works?
sure, trying that now
Still running into the same error message: req_6yRsyeHsgOcklC
could there be an issue because the customer has two cash balance accounts?
yeah, I'm talking to my teammates and further debugging
