Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard to manage business payments and operations in your account. Manage payments and refunds, respond to disputes and more.
Is it possible to do this via API?
This is the Dashboard only feature
It's going to be difficult to get my clients to actually do this

I'd recommend sharing your feedback to Stripe Support https://support.stripe.com/contact, so that they can share it with the relevant team. Meanwhile, the only way is to cancel the subscription manually using the API
with stripe connect, there's no way to access this on behalf of our customers, right?
I'm afraid there is other way to access this setting for connected acounts except for the connected account itself
