You mean Customer portal, right? Stripe Checkout is a different surface

in this case the customer will have already subscribed
we want them to be able to go to the customer portal and enter a code

You can add promotion_code enum to the default_allowed_updates array - https://docs.stripe.com/api/customer_portal/configurations/create#create_portal_configuration-features-subscription_update-default_allowed_updates
