- Yes you can use both v1 and v2 API in the same Stripe sandbox account
- https://docs.stripe.com/api-v2-overview?api-version=2025-07-30.preview&rds=1#limitations
- All API requests to the API /v2 namespace must include the Stripe-Version header to specify the underlying API version.

Okay thank you @split ibex
as for #3, I don't believe there is any issue on the integration as laravel/cashier-stripe will use the correct Stripe PHP SDK depending on which version is installed.
It just that initially we weren't aware that old stiripe sandbox requires additional step to enable version 2 API and I do feel that we need to document this on the upgrading guide in case they need to do so:
