hi 👋

What you describe sounds like a Stripe Connect integration to me.

#

It seems to fit the general description of a SaaS platform, which we describe in terms of Connect here

viral tree
#

There is no additional charges for using Stripe connect ?

broken bough
#

We cannot speak to Stripe fees here, sorry to say

#

We focus on helping developers code Stripe integrations

#

Stripe Support has a lot of deep knowledge of Connect and Stripe fees.

Also, one thing that isn’t super clear to me. Please let me know if this isn’t relevant and I’ll be happy to ignore

Stripe charges fees on the connected account, does that mean I as a platform owner would not have to pay the fee per transaction?

#

Btw, I love Snufkin as a character haha 🤣

#

Great name and DP

Stripe charges fees on the connected account

That is entirely dependent on how you structure the funds flows

#

Glad you appreciate it!

viral tree
#

Assuming I go with the fund flow as per the docs

#

I see only one Stripe fee taken out, which makes sense to me.

broken bough
#

Ah okay so Direct Charges, yes the fees are assessed on the Connected Account

#

Or rather, their portion. You don't pay fees out of your application_fee_amount

viral tree
#

I only pay charges out of my total collection, makes sense

#

If I just want connected accounts to receive money and I transfer 100% of the amount that is paid by the customer to the connected account then it is doable too looks like it ?

broken bough
#

Yup

#

In that case you would not specify an application_fee_amount when creating the Payment Intent.

viral tree
#

In my use case if I decide to give 100% to the connect account then I fall on the first category ? i.e Stripe handles pricing for your users ?

broken bough
#

That's the part where I'm only guessing. As I said, we focus on the actual coding API integrations. If you want 100% accurate answers, I recommend reaching out to Stripe Support.

Support or sales ?😅

broken bough
#

In this case you can reach out to Sales and they'll point you to what makes sense for your business. In general, we route questions that aren't for us here to Support

I am new to Stripe which is why I am asking 😅

Thank you
