What happens if you don't pass mandate_data in your Payment Intent creation request?
I might need to try, but I remember I had to add it because it was asking me to do so explicitly. But, let me try and go back.
Oh ok, that looks weird, when I try to add the payment method, I chose Klarna from the Payment Element overlay, then I am redirected to the Klarna test playground, I complete klarna setup and then when hitting Pay With Klarna I am redirected back to my web application, but immeditately after I am redirected back to Klarna showing me the approval animation and it asks me to click on Pay With Klarna again... that if I do not pass the mandate.

Yeah, it means it behaves the way I have explained above in case I do not pass in the mandate_data as part of the payment intent creation, as Snufkin asked.
In the past I remember I was requested to explicitly pass a mandate_data for payment intent creation, I used to receive an error, but I guess that changed? My point is, we are trying to push for Klarna payment methods to support a client in Germany, a few weeks ago we tested Klarna in our production environment but in the US, and it worked, now I was trying to test on_behalf_of approach to make our connected account in Germany to be able to use Klarna with EUR currency, and then when I was testing our actual implementation I noticed it stopped working, in the test environment at least, I have no way to try in the production environment because I have no real data neither credit card to use in production, and also we do not have clients using it yet, it all depends on making it work for Germany.
But this unknown error is killing me.
ok, I think this will need deeper investigation, so I'm going to start a workflow that will allow you to create a support case that I can redirect to one of our internal teams. please let me know when you have completed it
