I'd recommend downgrading to 0.43 as noted. Did you try that?
Clearly there's a bug of sorts, so tracking that issue is your best path forward until it's resolved

do you think that upgrading to 0.50 could also help with that?

Hmm, not sure. My guess is there's maybe an underlying issue in the native SDKs that 0.44.0 introduced: https://github.com/stripe/stripe-react-native/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#0440---2025-04-15
So any versions after that might be broke?
Unless you need a fix/feature in version newer than 0.43.0 I'd just stick with that?
