i am using stripe elements in reactJS in my web site. it will not allow the user to enter a Canadian postal code with letters. i tried the canadian test credit card number.
Which Stripe Element are you using specifically? Is it the Card Element?
If your site is publicly accessible, can you share the link to your site where we can see the Element? Please share the test login credentials (if any) and steps to navigate to the page where the Element is displayed.

so you have to select the country? the doc said it could figure it out from the card number
the country is defaulted to your IP geolocation
