👋 Welcome to your new thread!

⏲️ We'll be here soon! Typically we respond in a few minutes, but sometimes we might take a bit longer if the server is busy or if you have a particularly tricky question.

⏱️ We close idle threads, which makes them read-only. Once a thread is closed it won't be reopened, but you can always start a new thread if you have another question.

🔗 This thread will always be available, even after it's closed. You can find it again using Discord's search, or you can save this link: https://discord.com/channels/841573134531821608/1389859361991430214

📝 Have more to share? Add more details, code, screenshots, videos, etc. below.

Below are links to other discussions we've had with you in the past week in case you want to review that information. If your question is related to one of these previous discussions, please provide a comprehensive summary of the current state and what you need help with now. We help many users simultaneously, so a summary allows us to resolve your issue as soon as possible.

Hi! Sorry give me a moment as I am on multiple threads. I will be with you shortly!

#

Thank you for waiting! Some common reasons from the top of my head are:

  • Dispute Handling: Express accounts have limited dashboard capabilities and cannot handle disputes themselves. This responsibility falls on the platform, making it difficult as your number of connected accounts increases. Handling disputes through your platform account is more efficient.
  • Negative Balances: Refunds and negative balances from direct charges affect the connected account's balance directly. Since fees are not returned after refund, platforms are responsible for any negative balance.
  • Metrics Aggregation: It is challenging to aggregate metrics such as decline and conversion rates across multiple connected accounts, as the data is distributed, requiring more effort for analysis.
  • Receipt: You are unable to customize email receipts effectively to include your platform-specific information since settings reflect the connected account's configurations.

What if I ignore the caution and keep working with direct charges and Express, will that still work fine?

Yes, you can create Direct charges with Express connected accounts.

without any technical issue?

I am not sure what you mean by technical issue. But when you make the API call to create a direct charge with an Express connected account, the charge will be created.
