once you have the Invoice ID, you can get the associated PaymentIntent ID by using this endpoint: https://docs.stripe.com/api/invoice-payment/list?api-version=2025-05-28.basil

Thanks, this helps!
Now that I know I can retrieve the payment_intent_id using the Invoice ID, that works for my use case.
Follow up question ->
Is there a way to extend the subscription.create call so that the payment_intent is directly accessible (via expand, etc.) in the same response?
I’m curious if it’s possible to avoid making an additional API call to fetch the payment_intent using the invoice.

no unfortunately that's no possible, you need to make an extra API call for this.
