๐Ÿ‘‹ happy to help

#

no you can still give customers coupons through the discounts array

#

I can only attach it to a customer's subscription
yes

#

And if I want to give user without a subscription a coupon, my best bet is saving it somewhere on my side, and then applying it on checkout session?
yes

Sorry let me expand on my flow a bit:

  1. On my platform, user can receive a link to join a coupon
  2. When user accesses that link, we check if customer exists in stripe with the same email, and create a new one if it does not exist
  3. Then we attach a coupon to said customer by updating Customer object with param {"coupon": coupon_id}
  4. Then the user can in whatever moment in the future access Stripe and they will have a coupon applied on their checkout automatically.

This is how it worked pre-Basil. And now this flow is completely deprecated, correct? Can't attach a coupon without a subscription/checkout session?
