Hello, since it's for a Subscription, the metadata is only populated to the Subscription and Invoice objects.
If you want to populate it to the Charge as well, you will need to make another request to explicitly update the metadata on the Charge object
How should the request be sent?
Assuming that you received the charge.succeeded event, there should be a PaymentIntent id on it. You can find the corresponding Invoice id by using https://docs.stripe.com/api/invoice-payment/list.
After you retrieve the Invoice and have the metadata on hand, you can make a request to update the Charge using https://docs.stripe.com/api/charges/update
Is there a simpler way to achieve this?
no, unfortunately not
Why doesn’t Stripe include subscription-related information in the charge.refunded webhook? That way, we wouldn’t have to handle it in such a complicated way.
