Generally speaking we don't know GoHighLevel and can't really give good advice on that integration.

If you have to use the API, I would recommend using the Retrieve a Payment Intent API

You can look for the status of the Payment Intent.
You can also expand the response of the API call to retrieve the full charge object from thelatest_charge property on the Payment Intent.
