Hi there
If the payment fails because of a missing/expired customer.invoice_settings.default_payment_method you would have to update that payment method.
Stripe only looks for (in this order)
subscription.default_payment_methodsubscription.default_sourcecustomer.invoice_settings.default_payment_methodcustomer.default_source
https://docs.stripe.com/billing/revenue-recovery/smart-retries#payment-method-ordering
Hi, thanks!
Oh I see, so then Stripe won't charge the customer agains other stored payment method unless I manually update it, right?
When the payment fails, you would receive the invoice.payment_failed event. You need to update then payment method that has previously failed
Completely understood. All clear now, thank you for your guidance!
