yes we introduced a breaking change in the basil API version to support multiple partial payments on an Invoice https://docs.stripe.com/changelog/basil/2025-03-31/add-support-for-multiple-partial-payments-on-invoices

how does partial payments work anyway? like if I'm using stripe's checkout and stripe automatically attempts payment on subscription cycle then where does this partial payments fit in?

this is not a systematic thing... the invoice could be paid in 1 time

#

but in all cases, the breaking change in basil removes the direct relationship between invoices and PaymentIntents/Charges

#

and we added a new object called InvoicePayment that stores the relationship
