Hi, there is not a way to link Sandbox and the legacy Test mode accounts.
Even using Connected accounts?
That is correct
It's just a pain to migrate from test mode to sandbox. It's a lot of work. Do you have any recommendations?
As we won't be able to test integration otherwise.
From looking around, https://docs.stripe.com/event-destinations/eventbridge and confirming internally, event destinations requires Sandboxes
There is not a way to link the accounts like you imagined
We can't just test in live mode
That is correct, you can't test in live mode. I undertsand the lift to start over with Sandboxes but there are functionalities like this that is only supported in Sandbox and Test mode is becoming legacy
Is there a way to create a sandbox from test mode?
Just to ease the migration or are there any plans in the pipeline soon to ease that process?
No, there is not
I'll share your feedback with the product team. Given that test mode is beconing legacy, I suspect we will not add support and expect merchants to use Snadbox moving forward
Yes please. Thanks. Have you heard of any approaches some of your merchants have used to tackle this problem?
I have not, these accounts have no relation to each other so no.
Ok. Yeah it would be good to be able to have a migration path to sandbox from test mode.
As I suspect that will make it easier for your customers to make the transition.
Is there a timeline for customers to migrate away from test mode?
There is not an explicit timeline no. If we do deprecate it, we will send communications before that happens
Not the answer I was hoping for on my original question but thanks for your help.
