Hey there, there should be no technical issues with this, as you'd be providing an override email for each payment. However, I cannot speak to any issues around compliance or adherence to any terms regarding receipt emails for either your platform or the connected accounts.
Gotcha, so just to confirm, by using this approach we don't have a greater risk of payments getting flagged as fraud
I'm having trouble finding an affirmative answer on that, if you reach out to our support team they may be able to look in to it more deeply for you.
Are you doing a flow where receipt_email is required to be set? I think for standard PI flows it can be excluded typically
We're not setting receipt_email, but some of our customers have enabled in their settings the send email on "Succeeded payment" (see screenshot). We don't want to ask our custoemrs to disable this, because they might have some payments in Stripe that don't go through our system and for which they might still want Stripe to send emails on their behalf.
Forgot to mention that receipt_email is not set, but since the payment is linked to a Customer that does have an email address, the email is sent to the customer using the customer object email address.
Ah gotcha, I forgot that we automatically used the customer email like that. So yeah, overriding via receipt_email makes sense, but unfortunately I'm just not finding much on how that may be used. Our support team may be able to escalate this to get a better answer. https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true
