Hi there ๐Ÿ‘‹ my teammates and I focus on helping with our API and SDKs, so I'm a bit less familiar with the dashboard side of things.

Would you mind elaborating on what exactly you're trying to do in the Stripe dashboard for your Connected Account, and when you're seeing an error? (if this is a livemode Connected Account, please ensure you don't share any details about the account owner as this is a public forum)

Hello! thank you for the help! Basically I think this Connected account which is based in Australia already had set up their default bank account for money movement when they first were added as a connected account. In the last few days, I requested the AU BECS Debit capability be added to them (and any other AU-based Connected account we have as customers)

#

Now it looks like a debit agreement has to be added to their original bank account in order to support BECS, and I don't know how to do that.

I don't think that message relates to their ability to process debit payment methods. Since that is beside "debit negative balances", I think that message is indicating that the Connected Account can't have their associated bank account debited due to negative balances in their Stripe balance, because they don't have a bank account for the right currency.

But I may be mistaken.

When you look under the Capabilities section to the right on that page, what is the status shown for the Australia BECS Direct Debits payments Capability?

it is showing as active; which is great.

i am getting 2nd hand reports that the customer is unable to add any new payment methods; CC or bank account. i am looking to find any sort of Stripe requestID which would be useful here.

Can you elaborate on what that means, what is the issue being encountered? How did you design the part of your integration that allows customers to add new payment method details? If the concern you're mentioning is impacting the ability to add cards as well, this doesn't seem related to the Capability for processing those debit payment methods.

I think I am going to have to get more information from this customer. It did seem odd to me that negative debit warnings would mean they couldn't add CC or Debit payment methods... we are using SetupIntents to collect the PM info.

So I think I probably will have to put this issue on hold/closed for now until I have more details. Sorry for taking up your time!
