Hi! There isn't always a way to exactly match Dashboard reports via the API, and I'm not familiar with that report, as my colleague mentioned.

It looks like we unfortunately don't have a "list Tax Transactions" API but we do have a Tax Report - which is API-triggerable - so that's likely your best bet here in terms of automation.

Oh I think that would work just fine! Thank you!

Awesome! You're very welcome! ๐Ÿ™‚

I've also asked the folks working on that part of Stripe why we don't have a 'List Tax Transactions' API endpoint, because ... that would be kinda handy in general ๐Ÿ˜… and would clearly be super handy for you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you! For your discussions about this, I also discovered that the "Export your Stripe Tax transactions" list includes failed invoices (i.e. invoices which did not actually end up collecting any tax, but which may still generate legal tax liability), whereas there is no mention of such transactions in the Balance Transaction list from the API.

#

So there are some subtleties in the differences between these kinds of transactions.

Totally. Building big things is hard enough by yourself, let alone with multiple humans. ๐Ÿ™‚

You inspired a potential idea too: Maybe you can use List Balance Transactions to get those, and perhaps from there you could locate the Tax Transaction ID so you can retrieve it - I haven't tested this so I'm not sure it works, but ... maybe worth some fiddling?

i remember ctrl+f'ing for "tax" in the invoice object, and i couldn't find a tax transaction ID (but I found the tax amount in USD as toby showed me yesterday--still helpful)
