Hello, can you send the ID of the account here? Looking into the behavior here
Yes, here it is: acct_1OUUQmHJh7c72mw2
Still looking in to this but it looks like this doc may be helpful for you
https://docs.stripe.com/connect/multicurrency-settlement
You can turn on accounts being able to receive payouts in multiple currencies on this page
https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/connect/payouts/multicurrency-settlement
I am still figuring out what may be done around this specific account. I am not sure how to convert that GBP to EUR, or if there is a way to have for example USD settle as EUR in future.
Thanks.
>if there is a way to have for example USD settle as EUR in future.
This would be the ideal scenario - or some way to convert the currency from GBP -> EUR first before payout out to the EUR bank account via the API (like you can manually do via the web interface)
So one thing that I found is that the user can change their default currency in the express dashboard, I don't think there is a way for the platform to change it but I'm still looking. Also I'm not finding that conversion API that was mentioned
You should be able to pay out to their existing bank account by specifying destination in your create payout call
https://docs.stripe.com/api/payouts/create#create_payout-destination
And I did confirm that once they set their default currency to EUR, any funds that you send their way that they don't have a bank account in should get converted to EUR
Okay thank you very much for looking. I am wondering if the option to change default currency is not visible due to the fact this user only has one bank account in one currency. I've just been testing in the test environment. With two bank accounts in different currencies you can see it, but with just one currency it doesn't appear (see screenshots)
Interesting. I must have just seen that because I had two accounts on my test account, seeing what you can do here
I have reached out to my colleagues on this, apologies for the delay. I think worst case would be the accountholder reaching out to our support to set this, but I'm trying to see if there is an easier way first
Yeah it looks like at the moment they will need to either reach out to our support or add a GBP account, switch their default currency, and then remove the GBP account. I will file feedback around this, I don't think that should be required. But that is where our express dashboard's capabilities are at the moment
Okay, thank you for investigating - I will let that user know.
I tried a payout by specifying destination bank account and it seemed to work okay, so that might be the solution for now too. Just to confirm; by doing this, it results in a 1% conversion fee?
I am not that informed on fees, I think so because the balance is currently in GBP but our support team would be the best ones to confirm this with https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true
