I'm not sure I can speak to this question, it sounds like a question of tax compliance combining Stripe Tax + manual tax rates and payments via a platform.

#

If you have questions about how to set up for taxes rates & payments via Webflow, you should speak to the platform or plugin provider about that

#

If you're trying to integrate with Stripe directly and encountering unexpected behaviour, please share an example of that.

#

I cannot offer tax advice about compliance and any regulations that apply to you

@mighty moth Thanks for your help.

Since Webflow doesn't natively allow tax configuration at that level (Stripe is their only payment gateway) I had assumed I'd have to use a 3rd party ecomm platform like Foxy.io to accomplish this. Then I found out about manual tax rates in Stripe Tax.

If I could build their store in Webflow rather than Foxy that would be a LOT easier. For clarity, the client doesn't have a Stripe account yet, so I haven't been able to experiment with this set up.

Gotcha, are you able to write your own Stripe code here or is that all handled by Webflow?

Great question, and I'm not sure? You can configure certain tax settings in the native Webflow interface up to the state level. I can definitely implement custom code tho.

Gotcha, so as my colleague said yesterday manual tax rates could be used to get to that city granularity, the catch is that what you are able to do here will be defined by Webflow's integration. Even when things are possible in Stripe, it doesn't always mean that someone who implemented Stripe supports that specific feature.

Okay. Sounds like there may not be a way to know for sure unless I set up their Stripe account and test it.

Exactly, definitely let us know if you run into any questions with the Stripe dashboard or API while doing so

Thank you!
