not at the moment, I had one though which stayed open for 1 -2 days and then changed to paid

It would be difficult to see why it remained open instead of paid without a specific example.

Yes I only finalize the invoice when it created, thinking that would be pay the invoice.
that's not the case?
Do I have to stripe.invoice.pay after stripe.invoice.finalizeInvoice to pay immediately?

And after stripe.invoice.pay will I get the invoice.payment_succeeded event called Immediately?

Yeap you have to call the pay endpoint as well other wise the payment will be attempted an hour later.
